Privacy Policy
This policy explains how The DJ App handles information during its private beta and website launch period.
Information you provide
We may collect your name, email address, age range, adulthood confirmation, selected signup interest, communication preferences, display name, username, city, profile photo, preferred genres and venues, profile preferences, social links, and content you choose to post. If you use booking, guest list, message, review, or request features, we process the information you submit for those features. Optional launch-list information may be used to pre-fill a future account invitation, but joining the list does not create an account.
Location and discovery
Location-based features may use an approximate or precise location only after permission is requested. Location helps show nearby venues, events, DJs, plans, and travel reminders. The prototype currently uses demo location data in many areas. Precise location and attendance should not be public by default.
How information is used
- Provide, personalize, secure, and improve the app.
- Authenticate accounts and restore profiles across sessions.
- Show relevant DJs, venues, events, mixes, and recommendations.
- Deliver confirmations, password resets, guest list updates, and requested alerts.
- Moderate content, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.
Service providers
We use service providers to operate the beta, including Supabase for authentication and database services, Resend for transactional account email, Cloudflare for domain and web infrastructure, and Apple for TestFlight and app distribution. Each provider processes information under its own terms and security controls.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that operate the app, when you deliberately publish or share content, to comply with law, or to protect users and the service. Future ticket, payment, or partner integrations will receive only the information needed for a feature and will be disclosed before launch.
Public content and uploads
Profile fields and content you choose to publish may be visible to other users and may be reshared according to the controls you select. Private messages are not public. Our rights to operate and promote user-submitted content are described in the Terms of Use. Do not upload sensitive information or content you do not have permission to use.
Data retention and deletion
We retain account information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary for security, legal, fraud-prevention, and support purposes. You may request deletion through the app when available or through the account deletion page. Some records may be retained where legally required or de-identified for legitimate analytics.
Security
We use authenticated access, encrypted transport, owner-scoped database permissions, and restricted service credentials. No system can guarantee absolute security. Please use a unique password and report suspicious activity promptly.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can control optional profile fields, notification preferences, social activity visibility, and location permissions. Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may ask to know or access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information; object to or restrict certain processing; and opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Email and text choices
Access emails cover the beta or launch option you select. A separate optional choice covers occasional news, product updates, events, offers, and sponsored content sent by The DJ App. Text-message consent is separate, optional, and not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of text messages or HELP for help. You may unsubscribe from promotional or launch emails using the link in any such message or by contacting us. We may continue sending necessary security, account, or transaction-related messages. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes; service providers may process them only to operate our messaging program and honor your choices.
Age and nightlife services
The beta is not directed to children under 13. Individual venues and events may impose higher age requirements, including 18+ or 21+, and users are responsible for following those rules.
Changes
We may update this policy as beta features become real services. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice for material changes when appropriate.
